That doesn't look like a real Komodo Kamado to me. That looks like a POS Kamado from Richard Johnson and company.

You may be right. The real Komado Kamado has the bands hidden in the casting (If they have them) not exposed like in the picture above.

Also, look at the handle on the real ones, completely different.

Someone is trying to unload their POS for way more than it is worth and claiming it is something it is not.

The thread still has merit.  Until now, I didn't know that there were two different companies selling that style (tile skinned) komado.  The one you listed sells for maybe double the asking price, and the one that's not(?) ugly sells for much, much more.  That one I've seen in a store in Chandler, AZ, and it looks much better in person than in the pictures.

One of our forum members recently bought one ... embarrassed that I can't remember who.

@tisoypops was last on about a week ago.  I can't find any mention of the 'spensive Kamado in his discussions ... nor in mine for that fact.

The cooker really did have some neat features ... like a built in blower port.

Ok I own a 23" Komodo Kamado made by Dennis Linkletter's company. That grill is DEFINITELY not his product. The guy touting it as a KK is not very truthful. That's OK though, I sent Dennis an email tonight with the link to this clowns ad. Hopefully he'll be able to have the ad taken down. I had a XL BGE for several years, ended up giving it to my BIL as a retirement gift since he always admired it and loved the food that came off it. I still have a medium BGE for the times when I don't need such a large cooking surface as I have on the KK. Love both cookers!

If it were cheap enough, I might buy that tiled thing. Would make an interesting conversation piece the back yard. It would be something like, "WTF is that hideous thing?" and "You paid how much for it? Why?"

KK has a Kingsford original model? There's 2 different pictures in one of those links. Are they putting briquettes in their ceramic grills?

Aside from the obvious looks my understanding is it is better insulated, integrated pit controller port on side or back, integrated and hidden hinge, integrated nest, and positive lock on the lid, rain proof top, and guaranteed your neighbor won't have one.

I bet if you tie 3 dogs to that thing it won't budge at all...
