BGE Warranty and the Mothership

I cracked my XL base cooking for the throwdown. Made a voyage to the mothership today to file a warranty claim and check out their new crib. It took them less than ONE MINUTE to process my claim and tell me to backup to the loading dock. Impossible to go any smoother. Met a fine gentleman named Gordon who showed me around. BGE is a class act all around. Here are a few pics of the early imported grills and the Panchinko machine.

It sucks to hear the hassles others get from their dealers sometimes. Like you said they replace whatever pretty much no questions asked.

@Lit Agreed I feel bad for folks with a mediocre dealer at best that doesn't expedite the warranty process. I've never had an issue on any warranty claim with my dealer (class act peeps).

I didn't have a lot of time so I didn't want to go where I bought it and risk getting the run around. It's only 35 minutes to the mothership. Definitely a perk of living in the Dirty South.

Funny thing is that I'm pretty sure I sold a guy an egg while I was nosing around.  If my current gig ever pans out, I'm pretty sure I'd make a helluva BGE salesman.  =)

I wish it were that easy.  The cast fire grate at the bottom of my XL cracked.  I sent in my picture and receipt 6 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything.  The b...h of it is that I used to work there.  Guess they are a little pissed that I left.  From now on I will go to a
competitor.  It's a farther away but hopefully the service will be
    better

SAME thing happened to me, now I give my money to their competitor down the road.

@DoubleEgger ... Are there dates associated with when the various eggs were available?

@Jeepster47. They didn't have any signage up. Gordon told me this one was the very first Big Green Egg. The other ones were ones he had gotten in Japan and early imports. I'll ask the next time I'm over there. They aren't 100% complete with the new place. They are still doing some finish work.

Bruce authorized my cracked base quickly...dealer told me 4-6 weeks for my parts to get shipped from the other side of the state...unless I want to pay the freight....

Please ask what time frame this egg was available.  Should be late 60's to early 70's.
