For future reference what is the name of the campground pictured previously and how would you rate the facilities? I would like to take a travel trailer up there. Were the roads and campsites level? Were you packed like sardines?

I'd rate it a 4. Mainly because of the bath houses. The roads are paved, and decent for a mountain campground, and the sites are of average size. The rates fair though, the people nice and the views and lake are beautiful.LadyGT said:For future reference what is the name of the campground pictured previously and how would you rate the facilities? Who do you contact for reserving a campsite? Is this part of the fairgrounds? I would like to check it out sometime this summer so any info you share is appreciated. I have a boat too which motivates me into checking out lakeside campgrounds.

It is a very popular spot for RV'ers with boats. When I camped there with the family years ago some nice people took us on a boat ride. The lake is beautiful. The sites are a little crowded. Like many campgrounds some spots are better than others.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Reminds me of the old George Carlen joke. There will be a rain dance tonight....weather permitting!SmokinTiger81 said:We better start doing our "anti-rain" dances early this week--currently showing 80% chance thunderstorms. .Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

You have to get the lakeside spots the day they start letting you book for the next summer. We camped on the tent side a couple years in a row and all the people with the lake spots there know each other and they get the same spots there every year and rent them all summer and just leave their RV's/5th wheels there and drive back and forth. Its a very nice area and would be great with your own boat.LadyGT said:Who do you contact for reserving a campsite? Is this part of the fairgrounds? That is what we would like to do, but the campground is about 4 hours away. I would like find something closer to home. Driving 4 hours each way every weekend is not appealing. I do appreciate knowing the details on how the sites are reserved. I am disappointed already. Lol
