Smoking chips ...advice needed.

Need some advice. I have several bags of hickory, cherry, Apple, mesquite and pecan chips leftover from before I sold my masterbuilt electric smoker---any suggestions on Using these for cooks? I see that chunks are by far the preferred method...but I'd like to use up what I have before buying chunks.

You can certainly use them up Chris. Just spread them around and you will be fine. I still have a LOT of chips left before I made the switch over to chunks.

I like to soak them overnight. It really helps to restore some of the flavor that the kiln dried chips lose. It doesn't take too much at all!

I always like to have both chips and chunks on hand. Chips still have their place. On quick cooks, particularly direct cooks I like to throw a handful of chips on.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
