Looks like several others are in the same boat. Also, she just wanted a simple meal, nothing extravagant. Makes my day, helping make her day.

Same boat, except the MIL and the wife got together on the menu. Then my mom was planning a trip to the restaurant my brother manages, until she heard the menu and they came to eat with us!  Simple butt with baked beans and tater salad over the steak house.

    That's  a good looking plate!

You married a smart woman! I grilled ribeyes for 11 today. I had rather cook here than go out.

Brother stem the grub looks excellent. I'm cooking for Mothers Day but it won't be ready until sometime tomorrow. That said, I took the wife to the Half Shell Oyster House today. Will be a double treat I hope. Again, great looking grub.

I didn't give mine the choice - Mother's Day and Valentine's Day are the absolute worst days to dine out.  I would have taken her out Saturday night, but she asked for a rain check on that - we'll go out this summer when the daughter is at a grandparent's house.

I agree we try our best to stay away from restaurants on those holiday's. Way too many people for me.

Well, duh!  I would much rather cook myself than go out on Mother's day or Valentine's day.  The problem that I run in to is the my 19 and 22 year old sons don't want me (mom) to cook on my "day off".  So, I let them do what they want to instead. Dinner yesterday: chili dogs, cooked inside. Today I will be back at the side of my LGBE...and they will love it.
