I have to go back to the store tomorrow to see Chris. Apparently Chris is the only one who can do warranty stuff. I hope he doesn't tell me he'll have to order one and it'll be like 4 weeks. I may go insane by then. Guess that would give me time to get a invisible fence set up to keep Diesel out of the pool, out of my garden (he went back and finished off the hostas, I now have stalks) and away from my egg. He ate my Lilly too. It had just started to bloom. Good thing he's cute or id seriously consider cooking him on my egg when I get it.ShannyShooShooOwner of 1 Mini BGE and 1 Wood-fired Brick Oven.Mother of 4 boys, 1 obese feline, 1 mean-assed chow, 1 rowdy bulldog, and 6 completely spoiled sugar gliders

If the new base doesn't come with a gasket then now would be a good time to upgrade to a rutland gasket.

@RRP could a Rutland work on the top instead of the bottom? A little extra of that adhesive/gasket goo might fix that chip at the same time.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Fill it in with silicone. Same stuff you use to attach the Rutland gasket - Permatex Copper. Then put a new Rutland gasket over the patch.shannonlcorum said:Anyone have a suggestion for what I can do to fix this spot on the dome?

You guys better not bail on me. Last weekend I was left to fend of all the dead thread's being brought back by myself.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Yes it could, but personally I never recommend putting a Rutland on the dome, but I know people who have. If he wants to go that route then his best bet is to remove the dome and then install the gasket and let it cure! It's amazing how frustrating it can be working upside down against gravity! @Ozzie_Isaac I'll be here for you this week. I was traveling and entirely too sober to contribute last week.

I just don't want anyone to inadvertently dissuade SameyDog from continuing to share his views, opinions, and general world view.
After all, Friday's a-comin'!
