Stoker Fan Cover

Recieved my Stoker today in the mail and wasted no time setting it up and starting my rain cover for the fan. Thanks to @DoubleEgger, I was inspired to build one out of sheet metal. I have never worked with sheet metal before this project so I wasn't expecting to be anywhere close to as nice as his. Not perfect but I am pretty confident that it will do the job.

That's good looking buddy! Love the rounded edges.

That does indeed look nice!

Nice tight bends and rolls along with the rounded nose corners. Did you metal tongs or a hand brake? What gauge metal did you go with?LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@NPHuskerFL, I used a piece of wood as a straight edge to bend it around. Not sure of the thickness.

@DMW ... It should be easy to up size to a 10cfm blower ... might not even have to up size. However, you did notice the bandage on one of his fingers in the second photo? The expense might have to include medical costs!!!DMW said:What size blower is that? If it is a 10cfm, would you want to sell me one?
@Blassiter ... nice cover ... the simplicity of the solution really stands out.

Very observant @Jeepster47. Happy to say that was from yard work over the weekend. No injuries building the fan cover but I was using nice thick gloves just in case.

Here is my homemade rain cover. I built it in the rain.

I bet that works just fine, until the wind blows. Maybe just a rubber band to secure it in place would be needed.
-
@stompbox I used the area I cut to fit over the inlet as a flap. I then used more aluminum foil to wrap around the flap/tab and secure it to the fan exhaust.
Not super stable but withstood some blustery winds.
Your guys hand formed vent covers are significantly nicer. I was running around trying to gin something up in a hurry. I didn't even have the unit for 18 hrs before it was being rained on.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Rocks sells a rain cover however it will not interface with many of the options out there, your likely going to have to forward the rain do another device such as a rain gutter and that is if the rain gutter is compatibleVisalia, Ca @lkapigian
