Best Skewers for Kabobs

Just wondering what everyone prefers using for skewers. I've always used the little wooden (bamboo) ones, which are not my favorite due to splintering and occasional burning. Is there anything better out there?

Bamboo, metal get too hot!

Bamboo here as well. I use 2 skewers per Kabob. works better than the single imo. More meat less burnt skewerLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

I have totally abandoned skewers. I cook Levon's deconstructed. I do this because Ivan better control the individual components. I always had mixed results putting firm veggies and protons on at the same time. I like the veggie basket thingies. I get better results. Granted, the presentation is not as dramatic. I serve family style over rice.

I always lose sight of my protons if I don't skewer them.

If you are doing big kabobs, you can use big flat metal skewers and lay them across the felt, as shown here on Curry Egg #2

I use these from crate and barrel. Things don't go twisting and all trun as one unit.

These or something similar.
I do the meat on one and vegetables on the other method so nothing gets over cooked.

Wide flat bamboo for me. Food stays put for easy turning.
