Thank you sir! House is great - getting settled finally. Got the raised beds put in and already have some stuff planted: red potatoes, lettuce, onions, carrots, and sugar snap peas. Ready for warm weather so I can fill them the rest of the way up!cazzy said:Food looks great man! How is the house coming along?

@tarheelmatt - I use the square foot method, yes. But the soil is not what he suggests in his book. Do you use the method and/or soil?Large - Mini - Blackstone 17", 28", 36"

No, I don't as I haven't added more beds like I wanted to do. I had previous beds that I made before I knew about Mel's technique/philosophy and book. When I do get another bed, I'll make some Mel's mix for the soil.fence0407 said:@tarheelmatt - I use the square foot method, yes. But the soil is not what he suggests in his book. A guy at work followed Mel's method to the "T" and yielded amazing results.------------------------------

Welcome back. We've taking behind your back.

My mom is in charge of roughly 30 or more raised beds at her elementary school. They teach the kids to use his method and always have good results. She is not a huge fan of the soil he recommends (for reasons I do not know). You'll have to let me know if you end up trying it though!tarheelmatt said:
