Replacement Firebox

Hey All,

Have a base and a dome just sitting around as a result of warranty replacement and would like to put them to use.
Found other parts but don't seem to find much for the firebox other than the BGE one.
Is there any sort of after market replacement for the firebox?

Thanks for the help!

Go to your local Egg dealer. That wasn't hard was it?
  • Gee thanks...I know that BGE make one which is why I asked about after market options!

    Welcome to the forum.
The base and dome you speak of that you have just "sitting around" isn't that to replace a broken part? Are you trying to utilize broken parts?  Not aware of aftermarket firebox/rings that'll fit the "same" as OEM.

Base and dome are fine, just some minor glaze issues and the dealer did not require them to be returned when replacements arrived.
I will likely order a firebox from the dealer, figured it was worth an ask, as there seem to be a lot of different options for other parts.

I have the exact same situation. My old base a dome have cracks though so I do have some reservations on putting much money into it. @henapple hooked me up with the hinge/band assembly but I haven't found another option for the fire  box and ring yet.

I'm sure bge will like these type of posts and in the end may actually require the give back.  Of warranty replaced parts.
After u buy the firebox, fire ring, band assembly ...you will be out a few hundred $$ or so.  BGE honored their warranty to you, should u try and take advantage and piece another egg together? Some say yes, some say no.

My mini base that has a crack is a nice planter. I'm glad I got to keep it for that purpose.

My first fire box I replaced months ago is still sitting on my patio.  I'm thinking of gluing together and use it as a flower pot.

I thought about doing that too, or a fire pit with my large dome. I don't think it's unethical at all though to try to piece together another egg.

You can piece it together sure but for most after you buy the parts it makes less and less sense.
Most replacements are cracks so paying that for a crack that can fail does not make much sense to me.

I agree, just the thought that I could have a second large for a couple hundred bucks intrigues me.
