My first time for both. Haven't egg d in forever due to knee injury/work/weather....but @Dyal_SC 's post just tempted me too much! Thank you for that.

Granpappy (XL) is all cleaned out and ready to go for a low and slow. Saved Granpappy's tidbits to use in the Jr. Ribs are resting, trying to get used to being "dizzy". More to come.

Looks awesome! I almost got some at the store this morning. Instead we'e having pizza and wings tonight. And fajitas tomorrow. Is that homemade bbq sauce?

Okay, so first lesson. Don't take a nap while egging. Temp crept up to over 300. Some crunchy bits, but still edible. I guess you post the fails along with the wins. Beans to follow.

Well, the ribs were a bit over cooked, but still tasted okay. My oldest thought they were a bit on the sweet side.

The beans, oh the beans! The flavor was great, but they never did get soft enough to eat. (I did not presoak, believing all the posts saying it was not necessary.) While coming in the house after taking the beans off the egg, the bad knee gave out and yep, beans spilled all over the kitchen. THAT was fun. Not. On a brighter note, while helping me clean up, my oldest said, "Mom, since you used to be an interrogator, I think you wouldn't be one to spill the beans!" I love that boy!
