Has anybody tried using an enamel coated dutch oven in an egg before? They say don't use in outdoor grill. I'm thinking heat is heat, oven or grill or stove top.

Several on here use their Le Crueset on egg. I have several pieces but have not out it in yet. I know several have. @hapster?Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

I want a CI dutch oven. Wife has a Pampered Chef coated one but I dont want to suffer the wrath if I end up diacoloring it. Id do it at your own risk.

I use my Le crueset's a lot in an indirect manner, especially with short ribs. Cleans extremely well afterwards. The polypropylene know on the cover should be replaced with a metal one when cooking at higher temps.Romain Nowakowski Ashburn, VA

IMO opinion this is the most useful DO. It's relatively cheap and the lid is a skillet. Genius!

Thanks for all the help. Think I will try one of the lodge enamel coated ones. No wrath to deal with anyway got rid of her.
