I have settled on 270 -290 for my rib cooks.
Just wondering how this temp works on butts ? Will a 9 lb'r cook at 1hr / lb ?

I believe it would be a hair over 1 hour a pound. At those temps its still going to hang up a bit in the stall. Or you can bump to 350 when it gets hung up in the stall. Either way your goodLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

I'd plan for 1.25-1.5 and FTC, but the cook will be fine.

When I do turbo cooks on pork butts, I shoot for 300 to 350. Nine pound butts are done in about 6 hours or so and that's cooking most of the time at 350. Try 300 to 325 to see how it goes. Its all about learning and enjoying the ride.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

One thing to watch with the turbo cook temps-your bark may be a different texture than you are used to especially if you use a high sugar content rub. Foe what it's worth, I just did a 4 lb butt @ 350 and it was perfect in exactly 4 hours.
