    Not having a good supply of anything locally, I ordered some hasty bake through amazon, used it the last 2 nights and found it to be great so far.

    The price swings quite a bit, i've seen it as low as $42 and as high as $65, but it is usually about a dollar a pound or so and free shipping with prime.  Good big pieces, and shipped in a box so it didn't get mashed in transit.

    Call or get on firecraft.com. Order some rockwood. $100 or more makes it free shipping.

    +1 for what Jeremiah said ... you won't regret trying Rockwood.

    What's available in your local area?

  • I just realized that Ceramic Grill store is located in Denton. I live 15 miles away. Needless to say I see a trip to get some Rockwood and an AR in the very near future!!

    @newdgger169 ... you have several choices in the New Orleans area for Rockwood.  Google "Where to Buy Rockwood Cahrcoal" and click on the link.  Enter your zip code and up the radius to 100 miles.  That will show you the closest store that stocks Rockwood. Try a bag ... you won't regret it.

    Perfect happy with royal oak. Cheap and usually available at both walmart and home depot. RO is who makes BGE lump so you already know what you're getting.

    I bought a half pallet of wicked good once. Their warehouse is 20-30 miles away. It was good too and about the same price as walmart's RO.

    Never ordered any to be shipped. Doubt I ever will. RO is fine, I like it, it's right down the road and I don't have to drop $100-200 to buy some.

    I just looked at homedepot.com and every store within 50 miles of Nola has it in stock.

    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

    @logchief ... Make a border run.  Or, hook up with @anton ... he said something about burning Mexican orange peels or something like that.

    @Newegger169

    It's at Massey Outfitters downtown. Also available at any Ace......If it's not on the shelf, just have them order 8400772 and it will be there in a few days. Bassils Ace and Pontchartrain Ace keep it in stock usually.

    Yes, @Jeepster47, I have been loving this stuff called Santa Clara Valley orangewood, I'm pretty sure it is local only, It is sold exclusively through Eggs By The Bay, it is mexican orangewood that is super clean and neutral. @logchief, check your local Ace hardwares, Tractor Supply, and mom and pop hardware stores for other lump brands. Some other good ones I have found in Ace was Bayou Classic, and OO.
