It's throwdown time eggers!
@NPHuskerFL called it: ballotine chicken.
Yeah I had to look it up: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballotine
Per husker: "Contest to begin Friday 1-16-15 thru Sunday 1-18-15 up to the wee hours into 1-19-15 w/in reason. Last vote to be cast on 1-20-15 by say noon."
Rules:
Vote once damnit.
2 pictures per entry, one on the egg, on plated. (Forks optional)
CELL PHONE pics only. Gives us rookies a shot.
PRIZE: One bottle ($10 at my local store) of the winner's favorite Dizzy Pig rub/seasoning. --sorta following in @SmokeyPitt 's tradition. Not as great as his----sorry but I'm dirt poor. :(
This will be the unofficial thread so ask your questions, make suggestions here, and I'll make an official entry thread Friday.

Ballotine by definition would be deboning the chicken. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballotine
I see no problem with this. Have at it @DMW

@DMW, I'm hoping to give this a shot as well, but I just gotta say "I will not be voting for thighs". This is the 21st century and thighs just don't cut it.Steven

I just checked the Wikipedia link above and Ballotine by traditional definition is a deboned thigh, tied or trussed. The reason i asked is in the other thread Galantine Ballotine chicken was mentioned. I'm not super clear on the definitions, but i thought Gallantine was a whole whatever sliced and served cold, and Ballotine was a single serving size piece served either hot or cold.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galantine
Just need to make sure we are clear on the particulars, these things are serious.

@DMW I was speaking more of a whole chicken....Galantine Ballotine.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@dmw you're right! I bet a lot of us were introduced to this from the Pepin YouTube video, where he uses the terms galantine and ballotine interchangeably to describe a whole deboned stuffed chicken. So that's what I thought the throwdown was about.
Anyhow, it's @NPHuskerFL 's fault because he controls YouTube.Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle -
I assumed that was the case. I was just being pedantic because Little Steven mentioned rule setting and details, so I figured I would run with it last night. And then I had to post my Wiki links this morning...NPHuskerFL said:@DMW I was speaking more of a whole chicken....Galantine Ballotine.
