Saturday Switcheroo...

My nephews party got moved to tomorrow afternoon; so I will hold off on the ribs until tomorrow...
Decided to try a brisket today instead just because... Got the biggest one Wegmans had, 9.7lbs, mostly a large flat with a little point on it... Just salt, pepper, and garlic salt, going with oak for smoke at around 230 dome...
Scoot isn't feeling well so I am also making a big pot of chicken noodle soup, Jewish penicillin, to help fix her up and prevent me and the wife from catching whatever bug it is...
Overall a nice quiet Saturday for the most part...
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends.
Pics along soon...

Damn you Hap, guess I'll have to make ribs and live vicariously through your brisket. Enjoy the weekend man.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Brisky is going right along; in about 6 hours now. Soup is finished and we've had several cups...

Brisket finished a little while ago...
Okay... Certainly not at the level of some others on here that routinely hit brisket homers.

Great job on the little flat, I do a lot of those, they are easy for me to get at my local store, I am waiting for my KCBS membership so I can get a prime brisket soon. Can't wait. Great pics as always sir, looks delicious.

@Hapster-that brisket is a home-run! Had nice marbling going in, lucky that you can get that quality at your local store. Enjoy the eats and good luck with the healing process.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. I never even heard of most of these places. I never heard of Wegmans until I joined the forum. Went to Stater Bros. as a kid and I think we had a Market Basket. I was too little to know if Market Basket was the name of the store or a nick name. Keep in mind, these were my grandparents that called grocery shopping "trading" we would go downtown to do some trading. Didn't recognize the others. I didn't see any of the good ones listed like the Hoggly Woggly and HEB.Steven
