Dog gone it!

Going through some older pics I stumbled across this turkey breast I cooked about a month ago. It was on the SBGE and smoked with pecan wood. Pulled at 157 and I took a bite before I went upstairs to paint.
It looked beautiful!!
When I went downstairs after painting with the wife, I noticed it wasn't on the plate. I told her "Thanks for putting that turkey breast up for me." She replied that she hadn't touched it. I didn't believe her as she is always joking with me, but she reassured me she hadn't messed with it.......
That's when I noticed the grease streak on the counter and a very light haze on the floor in the dining room. My dog, Mojeaux, had to be the only explanation. He had never done anything like this before in his 4 years of being with me, but he must have not been able to resist when the opportunity arose! I was so unsuspecting because there was hardly a single trace of what I thought would have been left from his rampage. He ate the bones and all! All I could think of was that KFC commercial. "I ate the bones!"

My labs favorite hobby is counter cruising. Second is table cruising. Drives me nuts! She's smart about it. "sleeps" right up to the point you leave the room.

I absolutely hate it when my dog counter surfs. She's done it 2 or 3 times.

How could you possibly accuse that innocent face. Somebody else stole the turkey breast I am sure. Mojeaux looks perfectly guiltless to me.

^^^^that is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. Watch it every year. My mom is a real sentimental, emotional person. She took us to see that movie in the theater when it was released. Boy was she pissed!

Funniest story for my dog/wife. The wife was eating tuna sandwich and the dog brought the toilet paper to the dining room. Wife takes the toilet paper back and when she returned, her sandwich was gone. Labs love snacks! I'm almost positive the dog had a plan.

Counter surfer extraordinaire. His name is Vinny. We call him Skinny Vinny. He eats like a horse and has never been an ounce over 60lbs. He's getting up there. About 12 now.Fish, Hunt, Cook....anything else?

It is. Taken on Monday. His face is much whiter than it used to be. He's a stud, I've always said he'll live to be 20. He has tried to swallow a Rat'L Trap lure, jumped out of a moving truck while on a leash that was tied to the truck. Ate a sock and threw it up a week later. Tangled with 4 Canadian geese in the water a few years ago. And when he was 6 weeks old the truck he was in while on the way to the vet to get fixed flipped over. Killed 10 of the 12 dogs in boxes in the back. He was found eating a pine cone in the woods. He has who knows how many lives. The last time he counter surfed (about 5 years ago) he ate 6lbs of prime rib roast. Most expensive meal he's ever had. But he's a good mutt and takes care of us.Fish, Hunt, Cook....anything else?
