Cut slits in flank steak and Marinated for 3 hrs. Honey, soy, red wine vinegar, garlic, pepper, lime, and cilantro. Then rubbed with pepper and sea salt minutes prior to cook. 450 direct about 3-4 each side. Turned out pretty damn good. Had some sliced sweet potatoes my wife wiped up. My Lab Duke doesn't get any, but this is the sign of a good meal in my house!!!

Kennesaw Ga. XL Egg.
Cheers,
Kevin

My stupid hometown never has anything like that. Want to try one sometime.

Awesome. We had a black one named archie. He passed about 7 years ago. We had the pair for a long time. Archie was 12. Bayne was 14. Total opposite personalities. My favorite thing was they would stay in back of my truck forever. We took them EVERYWHERE. Could even take them to the mall and they'd sit in the truck people watching. Man I miss them. I have a couple mix breeds now. One was a rescue the other just a giveaway. I like ghem, but they just never have been like archie and bayne. They are just yard dogs.

Of all the things I've cooked, never once have I cooked a flank steak. They're kinda hard to come by here and if you see one its usually cheaper to buy a ribeye or strip.

@Biggreenpharmacist Grilled Marinated Flank Steak Recipe I added some lime juice and a bit of cilantro. Ingredients Marinade Ingredients 1/3 cup olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup honey 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Other ingredients 2 pounds flank steak Kosher salt Freshly ground pepper Method 1 Score the surface of the steak with 1/4 inch deep knife cuts, about an inch apart, across the grain of the meat. Combine the marinade ingredients. Place steak and marinade ingredients in a large freezer bag. Coat the steak well with the marinade. Seal the bag and place in a bowl. Chill and marinate for at least 2 hours and up to overnight. 2 Using olive oil soaked onto a paper towel, coat the grill rack of your grill with olive oil. Preheat the grill with high, direct heat. The grill is hot enough when you hold your hand about an inch over it and you can only hold it there for about a second. 3 Take the steak out of the marinade bag and sprinkle generously on all sides with coarse salt and freshly ground pepper. The salt and pepper will help form a savory crust on the steak. Place steak on the hot grill. If you are using a gas grill, cover the grill. Grill for 4-6 minutes on each side. Half way through grilling on each side, turn the steak 90° so that you get more grill marks. Read more: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/grilled_marinated_flank_steak/#ixzz3GMk3OFZQKennesaw Ga. I love flank steak. It used to be a cheaper cut of meat but I agree, now it's as much as a decent ribeye or strip.
That looks delicious. I feel for that poor dog... I'm drooling tooChicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle -
Thanks. I'm gonna try that out. I've got a little sear grate though so I dont have to do any rotating for good marks.

@blind99 that poor dog has won the lottery!!!! He is the king of the Home. I'm trying to keep him around a long time, so we cut out MOST table food. I still slip him some NY strip when the wife has a few glasses of Red Wine!!'Kennesaw Ga. XL Egg. Cheers, Kevin

Looking Yummy, I'll probably try it out this weekend. :-bd

Flank steak is second only to Ribeye in my universe and that's a perfectly cooked specimen. Nice job there! When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)

Great looking flank! Flank really packs a lot of flavor for sure.Since everyone else is posting their dogs face while cooking, I will too... When you totally nail a cook, Maggie dog gives the wink...
