I'm always amazed at how little air flow exists around that plate setter. It would appear to be a real choker! Maybe one of these days @badinfluence will fire up his and give us a user's review!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

How much lump will it hold? She said $4700 and it comes with everything. For that price it better come with a personal chef too!!!

In that thing, you could do an indirect cook without a plate setter

The Daisy wheel is comically small on that beast!

Don't worry no xxl has yet to break ground on the forum... Or any where on the web.
Have they sold one , that's been used? I've seen used ones at egg fest only.Seattle, WA -

@badinfluence has one but to my knowledge hasn't fire her up yet, but I agree with you! I believe it was announced 3 years ago at the Spring show, much like the Maxi-Mini was rolled out there this Spring. Seems like someone, somewhere would have posted something by now, doesn't it? A normally very reliable insider let it be known that crating the XXL was a serious problem and shipping without breakage had not yet been achieved back then. Seems like 16 months ago a couple top egg sellers were given XXLs as awards and had engraved plates on them as gifts from Ed Fisher. One dealer was in CA and he posed by his so this wasn't a dream of mine as it was posted on the Greeneggers forum. I'm sure that those chomping at the bit for the Maxi-Mini are hoping that won't be a 3 year delay as well! In all honesty, though how many people really are willing to plunk down over $4,000 for an unproven novelty that might be a white elephant that can't be crated and shipped?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -

There's one at Roswell hardware in Georgia. They want $5k.

The new high temp gasket has all but eliminated gasket problems with my customers (4 warranty claims in 545 Eggs sold in last 2 years). When you break them in correctly they seem to last nowadays. Of course the guy selling Rutland gaskets may spin it differently. LOLRRP said:And still sporting the cheapest felt gasket! What a deal! LOL-SMITTY

Oh and by the way, it took 2 hands for me to lift out the grill part!!! I like how I can lift out mine with 1 hand. I probably couldn't even lift the plate setter. Lol
-
It is sturdy

RIGHT Gene and Smitty! Any time you want to take over my HORRIBLY, un-AMERICAN, KILLER PROFITABLE, Rutland gasket business then just come come rip it from my hands! What I sell for $11 which includes postage must make you and the other dealers selling the frequent replacements for multiple times that price very unhappy!Crimsongator said:

To say BGE puts on cheap felt gasket is simply unfare and not true.Of all the different types of ceramic cookers now on the market, why doesn't any brand bother to put a great Rutland gasket on thier brand? BGE, Grill Dome, Kamado Joe, Vision, Primo? When it seems obvious that your product is better? Maybe not safe?Be careful with your family's food.

My original gasket has powered through too-many-to-count high heat cooks. It is original and came on my large which is from after the gasket change over. On my old medium(pre-changeover), the gasket made it six months. The large one is going on 18 months.

...and how about those great tasting pepperoni, cheese and fiberglass pizzas. To each their own.
