Jalamango wings- advice needed!

Ive done @Dyal_SC‌ jalamango wings a couple times now and have been asked to do them for this weekend. I have heard mesquite is good on wings but I always hear bad things about mesquite, so I've never used it. I am a fan of hickory but up until now, I always use fruitwood on chicken. What are your thoughts on using mesquite+chicken? Also, the sauce is always a bit runny, so I'm going to try reducing it down to thicken it up. TIA!
