@nolaegghead‌ gave me this foodsaver. It has been great but I purchased a new one today. He asked me to pass it on. First dibs. I'll ship it to you. A foodsaver, if you don't use one, is great. Saved a lot of pulled pork and potato soup for people. Just post here and pm me your info.

I would have tried to talk him down a little :P.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

If it doesn't come with a 6 month supply of food-saver bags (none of those off-brand ones either).... you can keep it!

    :))

But in all seriousness - way to pay it forward haha

It's hard to beat out @NPHuskerFL‌ if something is first dibs. I think he's on here 24/7.

A 500 or less word essay on why or how we would have used it may have been more fair. :-<

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Nope. Just happen to glance down while I was closing out an invoice. Pure luck.

I've been looking at getting one. What model is it and what did you replace it with? I want one that will do marinades too.

Foodsaver 4800. Found it at a liquidation store. $75 versus $175 on amazon. It has many features and marinating is one.

The marinating function is worthless in my opinion. I've tried it a number of times and it doesn't make much difference over just soaking the food.

There's a very good study about how vacuum ruins the texture of meat.  The foodsaver can't achieve the level of vacuum that chamber units can, but over time, if you continually use the marination tub, you can do more harm than good to the texture.

We bought two of them online at some discount site.  New.  They were like $35.  Worked great, bare bones.  We have had at least 5 foodsavers, love the gamesaver we have now.  Some of the models waste 2" of bag. Avoid.

Glad to see this particular one still being used.

We're dorks about having backup appliances (of course they're from finding deals).  Life revolves around our cooking.
