Today's first time tri-tip

Went to Costco and picked up some tri-tip. The seasoning that was used I picked up from the SoCal Eggfest we had here recently.
Did it indirect on my MBGE. I put the CI grid on the fire ring and then the Woo with pizza stone on top of that. Figured that CI would be pre heated and ready to go for the reverse sear after I removed the rig.
Pulled it around 118* the seared it on the CI grid for 90 seconds a side. Didn't get a final temp, but it came out great!!
Trying to figure out why my pics are sideways!!

I would eat that. Nice job.
iPhone 5 and various other cameras will show the preview sideways, opening it up on my mac it rights itself.

If you're using an iPhone turn it sideway with the home button to the right. This will keep the pictures rotated correctlyr8rs4lf said:Cant figure out why they are sideways so here they are.
And the tri-tip looks outstanding!!!-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky. -
OK, I'll try that. Funny thing is, both those pics were taken with my iPhone straight up so both should be sideways. As you can see, one is right. This forum has a mind of it's own.Mattman3969 said:Cant figure out why they are sideways so here they are.

Just clicked on the sideways pic and it's right side up. OMG!

If you edit your pics on your ifone (i just crop mine a little) first, they'll always be right side up. I dont know why, but works for me.

Hi and the tri-tip looks great. I'm going to try our 1st tri-tip today and was reading your post. Being new to the BGE, I have a few questions. What is "CI" and "Woo"? Thanks for your help & I hope my tri-tip turns out as good as yours.

Looking good. I did one a week ago and cooked it like a steak and it came out great. Next one will be low and slow, then reverse sear on CI skillet.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

It allows for a nice quick removal of the platesetter, for switching between direct and indirect cooks. Available from the Ceramic Grill Store.Large BGE, Mini BGEMorgantown, PA -
Wow, you're from California and this is your first tri tip? Don't hear that often haha.
