Mini Max

Has anyone heard lately from their dealer regarding the Mini Max?

Just curious when we could expect it.

between 60-90 days per the mothership about a week ago.  They are wanting to launch it close to football season to leverage the tailgating capabilities.

Anybody know the weight of it?  A fully loaded mini is not super heavy but any heavier than that would probably wear you out pretty quick.

Have my name on the first one to hit my dealer but not sure I will want it. Have "ALL" the crap for the Mini now and it is about all the weight I want to carry in the Carten. It will cook all Linda I want on a trip and at home 2 Larges are setting there. Not sure on the weight of it and if I want to wait for people to make all the new toys.

Brother go ahead and get it. You can never have to many cookers in your arsenal my friend. ;)

I got the KJ which will be about the same weight and in the stand I wouldn't want to have to move it more than 50' or so with the inside in. Without the internals its about the same weight as the mini with internals. The KJ is my new pool egg just through it in the wagon and away we go.

Went the double Mini's before and just did not use them like I thought. Now the double Large combo is outstanding (IMO). But I will use the Mini now about 75%+ of the time. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

I'm really wanting a second large as well and a double SS table to put them in. I don't need it just want it. Looking back my wants usually win out over my needs so I can see the second large and table in the very near future.

It is outstanding at holidays or any time you want a turkey & ham ready at the same time.

Distributor here that I have a standing order for a MiniMax with tells me 'probably July' which probably means August.

My guess that that end of July to early August, we'll have the MiniMax to enjoy.

I've heard the same sentiment about tailgating season- that the  unofficial goal is to get them out in time for tailgating season.

Either way, I've got a standing order to get the first one made available by these guys.

CAN'T wait!  Pizza parties at college football games, and beachfront cookouts in Mexico with U10 shrimp!

I leave for the beach the first of August, hopefully they're in by then!  I'm driving to Florida, so maybe I'll stop by the mothership and pick one up on my way down.

Its weird but the mothers ship is not the best place to buy an egg all the time. I have found better prices locally from some dealers.

I guess it depends on who you talk to at the Mothership as I was told 60-65 lbs when I was there.  The BGE site lists the Mini at 40 lbs (I just weighed mine and it came out to 40.1 lbs including the Mini Woo and a little leftover lump).  The Small is listed at 80 lbs (sorry, I'm not in the mood to lift it out of the nest to weigh it right now).  Unless they went with thinner ceramic there's no way the Max will be a trim 45 lbs.  The prototype I saw certainly didn't look like it had walls any thinner than my Mini or Small.  Perhaps the guy at the mothership that you spoke with didn't know his own strength!  :)

  • Do you supose one of those large plastic water bottle crates would be a good answer for transporting a minimax?? Or even an old milk crate with an old beach towel for padding?

I believe the rumor is that BGE will be offering some type of carrier for the MM (similar to the Kamado Joe Jr stand).

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I'm going camping in a few weeks and that's how I'm going to transport my Vision Kub. I got a few empty milk crates around the house. I'm thinking I'm going to have to remove the shelves though.

Not to derail this thread but I sure would like to purchase an eggcarten.  I hope those things go back into production soon.
