Open my xl BGE to light and found my plate setter in two pieces. Anyone else had this problem. It was approx 16 months old. Anyone known if there is a warranty?

It's called the "convEGGtor" now. Maybe they were taken over by Ikea.

The wiggle room in the warranty will test how well your dealer wants to treat you!

Improper storage is a real loosey-goosey term!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
What is the 'proper' way to store a plate setter? In an old gas grill?

Don't know about others but I like to keep it so the legs are protected. This plastic box has a lid not pictured here and then I just scoot it under my table. 14 year old PS has a lot of hours on it and still in one piece!Tjcoley said:What is the 'proper' way to store a plate setter? I store the plate setter, aka "convEGGtor" (stupid name), inside the Egg.
That's the way it came from the Dealer. I would hope if it cracked or broke, from no misuse, it would be covered.
Perhaps not. :(

It's their call. Some dealers will replace them sight unseen. Others might interpret the damage as being dropped (I suppose if it's spit in two cleanly versus fractured into a hundred fragments, they might differentiate cause). Just be nice and honest and karma should take care of you most of the time. Like google says, don't be evil. Hypocrites.
Our first convEGGtor/plate setter cracked in two. Replace sight unseen. Mine has a crack on it now, might try to get it replace before the warranty runs out (less than a year left).

I just worked with the mother ship on another issue and I have to say that there customer service is awesome. I would call them up and talk with them. Im pretty sure that the warranty is 5 years on the plate setter.Jeff from Winston-Salem, NC - LBGE, MiniMax, Blackstone

I'm on my 3rd plate setter. Mine had a hairline crack. Took it in and it was replaced under warranty. I store mine on my lower shelf of my open egg table.Mark Annville, PA
