Craiglist Listing For A Large Big Green Egg

There is a large that is 5 or 6 years old for $450 in my area. A couple accessories go with it (PS, CI grate) I was just wondering what larges go for on Craiglist? I have a large and a small. I know there is no warranty and it seems like eggfest demos go for $750 or so that have warranty.Any input would be appreciated.

  • If its the one in the red cart it looks bad to me. I dont like seeing one sit out like that. Table looks rough. If a guy doesnt take any better care of it than that, I'd shy away from it.

just bought one that's a demo egg that is fully warranted.  Only eggs bought from auth dealers come with warranties.

@Biggreenpharmacist‌ Yea, It does look rough. I don't particularly need it anyway. Sitting in the weather is hard on anything.

  • Mine sits on my back porch. I use it all the time and it still looks new. I can't imagine paying for an egg and letting it sit out.

@DaveRichardson‌ Yes the warranty is kind of a biggie. I have used it twice and about to use it again.

  • I bought a small from a guy in sherwood that I use at my camp. I paid 300 for it but I went and looked at it first and it was well taken care of. I wouldnt chance 500 bucks.

$450 = accessories and no warranty or $750 = no accessories and warranty? I think I'd value warranty at $300 + accessories.

$300 for a large is definitely a deal.  If it is in good shape, I would do that in a heartbeat.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I can't see the condition but a used large in the northeast at $450 would be sold in a day or two. That is one that is in good condition.

Most large rental companies do this;- Change oil every 10,000 miles (agreement with the factory they leased, not bought them from) wash and vacuum them every 3 days, on average. Check levels every 5 days or so. They run current year cars to about 20,000 miles and if they roll into another year, then 35,000 is close. On todays cars it's not a problem mechanically. Most of their rentals are to business travelers who don't tear-ass them around. Them come with balance of manufacturers' warrantees and represent a pretty good deal if you keep them for more than couple of years. The initial (huge) depreciation is paid for so you don't have to. I'm willing to bet some on here have bought one and didn't even know it, although the dealer is suppose to declare a previous rental unit - it shows up on Carfax anyway. Just another view FWIW…….

@jhl192‌ It has been left out in the weather. The accessories (PS rib rack) were on the ground. I bet the hinges are rusted as well.
