Another new egger here.. Been lurking on the site for a few months and decided it was time to contribute.
I do have this site to thank (blame
) for some large expenditures post egg purchase... (AR, numerous stones, Digi2, Wok, Spider, Propane Torch, etc..)
) for some large expenditures post egg purchase... (AR, numerous stones, Digi2, Wok, Spider, Propane Torch, etc..)I've had a Traeger for about 6 years and been very impressed with the food I turned out on it. It's a great Oven/Smoker but a worthless Grill. I haven't cook a decent steak on it in 6 years which is what got me looking at the egg. I've been itching to pull the trigger for a few years but finally took the plunge a few months ago and purchased a LBGE.
So far I've cooked baby backs (twice), a shoulder, several rounds of steaks, several rounds of chicken wings, pizza's, and a spatchcock chicken. Itching to try a brisquit, something I wanted to try on the Traeger but never got around to it. I think what I've had the most fun with though is the Wok cooking up Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken. So far I haven't turned out a bad meal and all my old favorites on the pellet cooker (Ribs and Butts) I've reproduced with similar or better results.
The versatility of the egg combined with the AR and Spider to do direct and indirect cooking is awesome.
A big thanks to the forum members here for the information that I've already gotten from trolling on the site and I hope to contribute to the community going forward.

Welcome to the Lifestyle! Looking forward to seeing some of your cooks.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey as it sounds like you have quite a start. A game-changer for sure!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Welcome, nice to see another from the PNW, specially anyone from the same state as Snake River Farms. Where are you in the "Gem State"?Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

That word doesn't mean what you think it means.
And, welcome! You'll find out soon enough.

Welcome, enjoy. I bet you cook the best potatoes! stock up on Budweiser!

Sadly, most of the Potatoes we get in Idaho come from other states like Oregon. Most Idaho potatoes are exported to other states... Potatoes aren't exactly a favorite of mine anyway, good only on occasion.I'd have to say Budweiser or Bud Light would be one of my last choices as well.. Much more of a micro-brew fan myself, even brewing my own on occasion.

jack select is good too.
