URGENT do you HAVE to refrigerate canned crab?
Options
Just opened my $18 can of crab and realized that it says "keep refrigerated" on it. This thing has been sitting in my cupboard for 3 weeks. I just assumed it was similar to canned tuna. Is this trash?

I've only ever seen canned crab in the refrigerated area of the grocer. FwiwLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

Not all does. Bumblebee and Chicken of the Sea both have some that doesn't need to be refrigerated. I've used it before to top salads, not my first choice but passable when the good stuff isn't available.
