Fish taco question (crispy fish but no breading)

I love fish tacos but only if the fish is a bit crunchy or crispy. I am cutting way down on carbs so I can't add any kind of breading or crumbs. I've searched the forums and read several recipes but haven't found the key to get the fish a bit crispy/crunchy.
Any advice? I can't stand soft or mushy fish.

What about baking powder? Not sure but it works well for baking wings with that awesome crunchBeaufort, SC

You can do crispy in a CI skillet or griddle. I know you don't want the carbs but; "Panko Bread Crumbs" will give you an amazing crunch!
