With a competition on the horizon I thought it would be a great day to give a trail run a whirl. Sunny and 65 with very little wind was the perfect day for fixing a busted tile in the entry way from a wee lad dropping stuff he shouldn't have been playing with and cracking it, changing oil in the vehicles, grilling some brats for lunch, playing with the boys outside with all the toys they haven't seen since last fall, mamma took older one to fly a kite while little one took a nap, sweep out the dirt from the lovely snow storm and 6.5 inches we got on Friday am and then smoke a couple slabs of ribs and trail run on a homemade BBQ sauce. HyVee didn't have any spars so had to settle for meaty Baby Backs. Rubbed down with Rib Rub and onto indirect egg at 225 letting it climb slowly to 275 over the next 6 hours with peach wood, saucing the last hour. Forgot the initial shot but here they are one naked and imageimageimage Nice bite! :)) image When they say meat, they aren't kidding! image Crazy tender with a slight tug, some of the best yet, sauce was good but a little heavy with the onion and garlic! Have a good Sunday night all.
