Any one stocking up on pork or beef due to climbing prices?

With beef and pork prices climbing quickly I am curious if anyone is stocking up their deep freezers? Do you think many people can tell the difference between frozen or fresh meat when barbequed?

I go in on half a cow every year. It yields steaks, roasts, etc. and lots of ground beef. it's like 400 lbs of beef that goes in my freezer. With that being said its always better than anything I buy at the grocery store in the meat isle. I may buy a truck full of Boston butt in the next week or two thoLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

I'm not. I already have a small back stock and I know I'll still be able to find some stuff on sale. I have noticed an increase on prime brisket so I might pick up one or two of those in the near future.Dave - Austin, TX

I did hind-quarter - about 130lbs roasts, steaks and burger. About 3.20/lb

I haven't noticed any jump. Butt is 1.49/lb, Most beef is 6-9/lb on average. I usually buy higher end stuff(organic, Angus, prime, etc) so perhaps it's the lower priced stuff that's climbing first.

Bought 2 CAB striploins for the freezer. We are looking at 40 to 50% increase on some cuts here. Should be an interesting summer at the shop!Ottawa Valley, Ontario

Seeing as my freezer just went down and I threw away everything, probably not.Southern Indiana

My freezers are too full already. Stock up on dry goods - we're in for some serious droughts and the zombie apocalypse is on the horizon. Remember, remove the head or destroy the brain....

Already have a few Boston butts in the freezer. Just picked up a choice brisket. That was the thing I saw jump up the most. it went from $2.38# to $2.98# in the last 2 months. I might get another as I'm probably going to make the one I got soon.
