Is brisket survival food?

I cooked a 12 lb brisket last week before driving to Norfork AR for an annual fly fishing trip with my brother and the some friends. I had not problems with roads or snow and ice in the Subaru until I got north of Little Rock. The last 100 miles was dicey and took several hours longer than usual. I arrived that at the cabin and had to park on the road. The driveway was blocked by my friends Cadillac that was stuck in the snow and ice. He greeted me and asked what he could do to help. I mentioned I had the brisket in the ice chest and the rest of my gear. He took the ice chest - brisket to the cabin and never came back. After three trips I asked him why he wasn't helping. The brisket was out of the chest, bag and foil and sliced. Turns out he had been eating the same tray of Lasagna made with rice noodles for 3 days his wife made the week before with a few trout for variety. He was out of Bourbon and beer too. 12 lbs of brisket disappeared in 3 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner between 4 fishermen not including the cook. The few pieces I got were pretty good if I have to say so myself. We all agreed that brisket is OK to classify as survival food in this situation. Yes, we caught some fish and replenished the bourbon and beer supply.
