My lovely wife got me a new pizza stone for Valentine's Day...I cracked my PC one last week. It was a sweet gesture but she got me something made by a company called "Nordic Ware". Anyone had any experience with this brand? Should I even bother trying to fire it up or just take it back. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I have never heard anyone mention this brand.

How thick is the stone?"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

That line is carried by Target, JC Penny and of course Amazon too. If your new "stone" is the cast iron one she gave a pretty penny for it - in fact about the same as a BGE pizza stone. Depending on how your wife handles a rejected gift has to be your call!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

It's super thin...maybe a 1/4 inch? And no, it's not cast iron.

Get the Baking Steel pizza "stone". You won't regret it.
Northern Colorado Egghead since 2012.
XL BGE and a KBQ.

Interesting, I've never seen a stone from Nordic Ware. They make incredible pizza pans for deep dish and some folks swear by their pizza screens. Not to prolong the return, but where did she get it?Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

I have two stones from bed bath and beyond and love them. The stones end up being 10 dollars after coupon. I would be interested in a steel stone but do not want to spend 70 bucks.
