First Deep Dish Pizza

I haven't used the egg in a while since I have been down in Cabo the last week so the wife wanted deep dish pizza. My parents bought me the deep dish stone last Xmas 2012, so I've had it a while collecting dust.
I am a big fan of a few lumps and one of them is the Central Market brand, It hasn't let me down yet and today was no difference. Had some of the biggest pieces I've ever seen come out of a bag.
I layered my deep dish with cheese, sauce, pepperoni, more cheese, bacon and more cheese.
Pie is on and waiting the completed project.

I was very happy with the crust not homemade but I bought it at a local Italian Deli close to my house. Wife said it was the best pizza to date, and inlaws saw some pictures and are expecting it when they get here in April. "Hold my beer and watch this S##T!"

Looks awesome! So, do you put the room temperature stone directly in a hot Egg? Is thermal shock a concern?Franklin, TNLarge BGE+PSWoo2

I did put it on directly, I did have PS legs down and the rested the dish on spacers. I read that some folks put the dough in and the cook for about 5 min or so and then apply toppings. My way seemed to work out fine.

Yep, actually my neighbor had bought quite a bit and gave me some. It saved me the hassle of going through the whole making the dough fiasco. And to be honest you can't go wrong with Jimmy's dough."Hold my beer and watch this S##T!"

Jimmy's is awesome. Dough is great, love their spicy sausage on a pizza, and I get pepperoni cut extra thick, and hot sopprasetta, and provel cheese and best Cuban sandwich in town!
I'm hungry now.

The crust looks perfect. The Central Market lump is very good. I wish they sold it in bigger bags.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

If you ever give up wrenching as a hobby, you can get into gourmet pies, great looking pizza.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

@TUTTLE871 - i've only seen the small bags at the HEB near me. I should check Central Market and see if they have the big bags in stock. Duh... never thought of that before!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.
