I have been searching for another BGE (Small). I seen an add in the paper for a 4 year old Egg. Has the Quality of the BGE changed over the years?

Well, my small is 14 years old and a real workhorse. If I needed to replace it and had the opportunity to buy another 14 year old or a 4 year old for that matter at a good price I'd do it in a heart beat. What is the asking price and the condition?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

He is asking 400 and in good condition?

$400 is high for a used small unless its coming with a nest and mates and platesetter.

My advice is to back up slowly, turn around and run like hell!!! $400 is a joke! You can buy a brand new one with a lifetime warranty for nearly that price!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

That is what I thought. Thanks all!!

Some folks have lost their marbles. I saw a large listed in C/L
5 years old for 900 firm. I'd rather spent a couple more and get brand new.

Bought my large with nest for $600 used (around 6 months old). The inside was still white.

A good strategy is to attend the Eggfest and get a "used" egg their with accessories and you still get the lifetime warranty.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

My first egg was a small that a PM I worked with gave me that he didn't use anymore. I will never get rid of it. Pretty sure it is more sturdy than the newer eggs. I had an original mini and its ceramic was thicker than the new models also.

This might explain why my new Mini's ceramic cap does not fit properly...old style cap on a new and thinner Mini. Still hoping that the Mothership will return my telephone call regarding this.Lit said:My first egg was a small that a PM I worked with gave me that he didn't use anymore. I will never get rid of it.
