LBGE firebox divider
Eggcelsior

I just saw this on Amazon while researching something else. I know people have asked about a firebox divider in the past for the Large and this claims it fits. It's pretty steep for what it is, but I thought I would share. Forgive me if this has been posted before.

Lmao. $70?! Can get DIY pieces and pay probably $20

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

No thanks......looks cool, but I'm going to leave that to the accessory eggsperts. As soon as this run of grates is done, I'm out of the grate business. The 98% of my time spent on charcoal isn't enough--need that extra 2% from the grates.SmokeyPitt said:

Looks like it would work. Definitely over priced.Dead smack in the middle of NH

If it's stainless steel, that's a deal. Look at the gauge.
If even it's regular steel, $70 isn't unreasonable for something like that considering the machining that's going into it. With what it weighs and the odd shape, it's easily costing them $15 to ship (free shipping for you.). Add on Amazon's 15% referral fees, and there's probably not as much profit as you think.
I have several products I would like to produce for the BGE, but I would need to make them in runs of 10-20K in China to get them to a reasonable retail price. Otherwise they would all be $50+ with no margin for dealers/distributors. Better stick to charcoal.

Unlikely that it's machined. That would drive the price way up on it. Probably water jet.
I didn't notice it was 1/4 thick though.
Given the current price of stainless, I'll say a tad overpriced instead of way overpriced.Dead smack in the middle of NH -
In addition to my 3 BGE I have a large Grill Dome and a reclaimed XL Primo Oval. I purchased one of these dividers for the XL Oval and I like the quality and performance of the product. It is cast iron and has held up very well. The oval shape ov the Primo makes it ideal to use as a divider. I would see if it fits my large BGE but the bottom grate is oval and not round like the one for the BGEEggcelsior said:I just saw this on Amazon while researching something else.
