Woo2 with the ceramic stone! You can do indirect and raised grid. Still sucks that it happened. Try the JB Weld.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

+1 Jb Weld. I broke a leg off my platesetter about 6 months ago and I put it back together with Jb Weld and it has worked awesome!Peachtree City, Ga Large BGE

That sucks......Luckily when I broke mine, I just busted a leg off. So I just broke the other two off, and I had a pizza stone.

Sorry. Just curious when you say you grabbed it with one hand was there a beer in the other hand at the time?Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -

Just bought some JB Weld. The breaks are pretty clean, i'm hoping it works. Going to try and put her back together again tonight. This has to work or I have to buy a new platesetter by the weekend... it's Superbowl weekend. Only scary thing is that the package says good for up to 550 degrees. I'll keep you all posted.South Florida - Large BGE (DOB: 12/07/2013)

Though I rarely use mine since getting my AR's, my platesetter has been JB welded together for three years and is still going strong.Mike
I'm ashamed what I did for a Klondike Bar!!

A few months back I noticed a crack in my plate setter. I wiggled it and it broke in three pieces. Took it back to the retailer where I bought it. They asked me if I dropped it. I told them no, which was the truth. It certainly wasn't my fault that it was broken. I showed them the receipt and they replaced it for me at no charge. As far as using JB Weld. I certainly wouldn't want that inside my BGE while I was cooking. Chemicals fumes who knows."I'm stupidest when I try to be funny"

Yeah @TigerTony, I was thinking the same thing. Wondering if heat applied to JB weld would result in toxic vapor being released into the cooking chamber. Perhaps I'm just paranoid, but <$100 for a new platesetter seems worth it to avoid that possibility.

FAIL!!!! My lack of skills was on display last night. Reassembly using the JB Weld was a total nightmare. Not sure if I had the right mix or used too much / too little, but trying to hold it together for 20+ minutes was a challenge. It just didnt seem to set. Plus I had the expoxy everywhere... the floor, my gloves, all over the platesetter, my face, etc... If I had a proper workshop, tools, clamps, etc... maybe it wouldve been a different story. Looks like I'm dropping some $$ for a new platesetter. Looked into the AR briefly... i don't really get it. I'd love to see it in person.South Florida - Large BGE (DOB: 12/07/2013)

Watch Tom's video on his website where he explains it during some cooks(youtube videos).Or ask @Mickey.

@FaceDance - I will vouch for the JB Weld also. I broke my Platesetter about a year ago when I picked it up(hot) with a weldiong glove and did not plan ahead where I was going to put it. Had to put it down in a hurry and crack! JB Welded it back together and it has worked flawlessly ever since.
Having said that - as you now know the JB Weld is a Two Part Epoxy and is sensitive to not getting equal parts of each mixed together. If it didn't set up, one of your mixes was not in there at equal ratio to the other. Don't give up on the JB...it has fixed many a thing (including my Platesetter) at my house.

Broke down and bought a new platesetter. $60 at Culinary Concepts in Pompano Beach, FL. I'm good with that.South Florida - Large BGE (DOB: 12/07/2013)
