Not a newb here, have had my egg for about 10 years now and thought I had seen about everything. I asked the wife (only been married since late October) to pick me up some lump so I could make tortilla soup tonight and she comes home with Best Of The West brand lump. Never heard of it, has anyone used this or heard of it before?

I would agree with the review, just dumped it into my egg and it had about 4 huge (almost too big to use) logs and the rest small 1x1 pieces. Complete junk.

She didn;t shop at Sam's by any chance did she ? I have used it and it worked out alright a little sparky. It's cheap !

No I think she go it at Walmart, just lit it and yeah it's sparky as hell

I am not a fan, but it is the lowest price..

Used it once from Sams. It did have big chunks but not too bad for price. Maybe I say that because I was coming off a bag of cowboy.....that stuff is horrible.

For $0.50/lb I don't think it's bad, it sometimes sparked si bad I had to remove the sparking piece, but fit the price it is expected.

got mine at Sam's club not the worst I have bought but would not buy again if possible.XL & waiting for my Mini Max Bloomington MN.

It has worked OK for me, but I had to break some of it up. Too big pieces create cool spots.

You can always make big pieces smaller, it's hard to go the other way. I believe all mesquite is "sparky" due to the hard nature of the wood. I use it all the time since I can pick it up for under $15 for a 40 lb bag.XLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser
