Sunday Cook... The Boss Has Spoken.
So here's my first attempt at Sunday gravy... Pork ribs, beef short ribs, and hot pork sausage. Should be ready in about 5 hours or so. Give me enough time to finish my stupid eval and watch some football.
Enjoy your Sundays everyone!

My wife and daughter just walked in and my wife paid me the highest of compliments... They left when I was starting the gravy, went to the movies and a little shopping figuring to let me finish my work in peace while dinner cooked on the stove...
The gravy has been cooking for about 3 hours now, my wife walked in and then yelled for me to come down to the kitchen. There she stood by the stove and gravy with a piece of fresh Italian bread in her hand and a huge smile...
She told me that this was better than her mother's gravy / sauce... her Italian mother )
I guess it's not too bad for a first attempt

Nice Hap! I had never heard about it til a few years back. I make loads of it now and distribute it to the family. I make my meatballs the size of baseballs(pork and veal only). Always have it in the freezer. Usually add a smoked pork hock along with the braciole.

You can tell the guy lives close to Philly. I dated a girl in West Chester and while at dinner with her grandparents her grandmother asked me to pass the gravy. As politely as I could (I thought she was going senile) I said, ma'am, there is no gravy. You could've heard a pin drop in the room. We call it sauce an hour west of you, Hap.
Looks good though. By the way, that "gravy" was the best I've ever tasted.Mark Annville, PA -

First time I heard it was sophomore year of college when my wife's(then girlfriend) RA talked about it. She was from Pittsburgh. Another roommate was from NYC and laughed at us when we were all "WTF?". It was called gravy if it used meat chunks and sausages and sauce if it used ground meat. They would alternate making it to compare. I didn't argue whose was better, I just ate well.
Apparently, it's a per family thing and is stronger in the NE towards gravy. -
