Snowy Saturday Cook...

Starting the prep now because I'm bored I guess...
Simple meatloaf and some roasted potatoes for tomorrow. Prepping the meat loaf tonight and then letting it sit overnight in the fridge...
I'm on call till Monday and it likely won't be pretty with the impending weather. On a positive note, I'm finally getting around to trying and finishing the pepper stout beef cook from last Sunday. Ran of time and patience, been sitting in the fridge since waiting to be restarted. Doing the finish on the stove...

I'm prepping for my snowy Saturday cook just a bit west of you. Was actually in your neck of the woods today, picked up some sushi from the Dowingtown Wegman's.

I done a meatloaf last night and instead of my regular recipe I used cheez-it's instead of bread crumbs. I can't say that I could tell any difference though.

Snowy cooks are my favorite. Unfortunately only moisture in my forecast is freezing rain. Hope you have as uneventful a weekend as possible being on call and all. I have to work tomorrow but have Sunday off, thinking ribs or maybe a brisket on Sunday.

Me too... last updated forecast I saw has us in for 8-10 plus... Fingers crossed that no power goes out.
Me, I'll likely egg a bit and then head out and try to get some pictures if I can LOL

We are at 5-7 inches of snow predicted Saturday. Like 80% of town we went to the grocery store and I said I wanted to get something to do on the Egg. The Mrs. was not so enthusiastic. 'You'll be traipsing snow into the house all day - get something we can cook inside'. Settled on beef for stew. Hoping she'll tie up the oven with Christmas cookies and I can get out the Dutch Oven and fire up the Egg.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. I've sprinkled cinnamon sugar all over the kitchen so it smells like Christmas cookies. She will either be too busy baking or killing ants.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

Just cooking off the excess liquid. After a week of marinating in the pepper juice, peppers, and Guinness for 4 days the taste is fantastic! I might have to put a few days between steps 2 & 3 next time as well...

I made a sammie knowing that I'd have to stay up an extra hour or two before going to bed just to avoid the reflux. Totally worth it

What's with the Weather Channel naming snow storms before they've happened? I'm not talking about the 18" once a decade types, I'm talking every GD 2-4" with mix that we get...
Winter Storm Electra... Really?!? It hasn't done **** yet around here except get a little cloudy... I wonder if me prepping my meatloaf last night knocked her off her game.

Drove up to Cigar International before the snow hit for real... I had a few warranty items that they handled very nicely. I also picked up a new cutter to go with my egg

You ever go to cigar fest at split rock in the poconos @hapster ? I've been to the last 3. Incredible. 1 ticket and I have all the cigars, cutters, lighters, etc. I can ever need for a lifetime. Excluding cigars. They don't last the whole yearLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

Snows done... Changed to freezing slop now. Fingers crossed power stays on everywhere, or at least where I'm on call...

@hapster - How often do you have to toss the taters when you cook them over direct heat like that?SBGE December 2012 • XLBGE December 2013 • Yoder YS640 JulyLocation: Jasper, Georgia

Egged meatloaf, like almost everything, is so much better off the egg then traditional methods.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Here it is plated up... The wine was pretty good!
And the ice storm that is currently happening and I wish would go away. Like get up to 40 already.

Brave man hapster. I wanted a cigar last night but too cold. Can't deal with the cold anymore.
