When 250 isn't really 250!!!!

Sweet Jesus never leave your egg to go get your visiting grandma from inside to show off the egg.Went inside to get grandma and egg was at 250 came back admired the egg for a minute or so then wondered why I couldn't pass 250???? Well opened the dome and closed again and the temp rebounded to 700 ...then it hit me 250 was really 1250!!!!
Scary stuff.... but my double nutted bands didn't slip:)
Lesson learned:/
Don't leave your egg top off and vent wide or 250 will be 1250 in no time ..lol

I did the same thing with all the relatives watching. I wish I could agree with Mickey I am a slow learner and drink to much High Life when egging.XL & waiting for my Mini Max Bloomington MN.

We are all just here having a laugh At my singed eye browns...scary though. I was calm staring at the egg up close acting as if it was only 250 when it was actually 1250.
