I want to get a DO for my large Egg. Cabela's has 4, 6 and 8 quart models. The 6 and 8 quart ones are both 12" in diameter, and the heights are 3.75" and 5". Any advice on which one will work best? Chili is the main purpose of getting it.

I have all the sizes mentioned and use them all. Decide how much chili you want to make and that will tell you the size or buy them all. If you have them you will use them. They all work on the egg. ;;)Every day is a bonus day and every meal is a banquet in Winter Springs, Fl !

I like my 7ish qt Le Creuset DO over my smaller lodge. Aside from the lodge being too small the enameled is so much easier to care for it isn't even funny.Near San Francisco in California

Every time my wife makes tacos I laugh at her because she has a 7ish qt LeCreuset DO that is pretty much only used for corn tortillas for tacos, she keeps the oil in the DO and adds more when needed...but a LeCreuset only for tortillas, good thing it was a yard sale find, maybe $10.

I got a wolf gang puck (sp?) 5.5 from Marshales for less than $50. It's heavy as hell and for the price I don't care if it gets messed up.XL BGE
