On amazon they have food saver and then a much cheaper off brand.

Costco is $8 off right now for the box. They also just got a new model the 4800 that is a mix between the standup model and the flat model. I am tempted to return mine and get the new one.

A few friends of mine went fishing yesterday and one of them borrowed my gamesaver this morning to freeze his share - 60 pounds of black and yellow fin tuna steaks. So actually he's ordered it to replace the roll of mine he's using. I just told him what to buy.

Absolutely. But I'd use fresh chickens. Freezing twice ain't good.

I clean, spatch, then fold back so the chicken fits into the large bags. Tried to put them in flat without success.

Haven't seen a hatcher in quite some time.

I've bought rolls from this guy on eBay. Prices vary, but you can get some great deals. They work very well. I'll definitely check out the other options in this thread.

I tried to use Vac pac bags from my kitchen supplier. Didn't suck any air out at all. Sealed nice but not very useful if it wont suck out. Makes me hesitant o order from anywhere but FS.

I was just reading on the interweb that the Foodsaver system wont work with the smooth style bags. Guess I need to plan a road trip tot he US and order up some items to my parcel service across the border for some free shipping.
