I got some at the Ace Hardware on Jones Bridge Road in Alpharetta. It is expensive though I think $14 for a #10 bag

I agree @SmokinDAWG82 I am back to RO at Walmart $6.80 for a #8.8 bag unless I get to Rest. Depot RO is even cheaper.

Restaurant depot raised the price on RO to $11.99 a bag. We need to get a group buy of Rockwood together for GA.

I agree @Lit, I have plenty of room in my warehouse in Alpharetta with a loading dock to have it delivered to.

    I don't know, sorry.....surely under $20 for a 20# bag though.

This was a test run with a half truckload, so if you guys like it, make sure you communicate that to the store managers.  I've had a lot of good feedback from them already, so hopefully those locations will be permanent.  I wasn't sure how our 100% Missouri branding would go over in another state--no complaints yet!

Just called my local ace (Morgan's in Woodstock) and it is $20.99 for a 20# bag.

Based on what @stlcharcoal said above it sounds  like their markup might be a little on the high side ;)

$25.99 at the Windermere Ace by my house. Looks like I will have to keep wondering how good this lump is.

Around $21/20# bag for Rockwood must be the general concensus outside the greater St. Louis area.  That's the going price in the land of Kentucky Jelly.  FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Well, I probably should have said, is that $18-20 is average price around STL......there's not several thousand dollars worth of shipping charges added onto it.  We do not have lump above $20 up here, since we're in the charcoal capital of the world.  I was surprised by the $14 for a 10# bag of OO, but maybe that's not outrageous for that market.

Like I said, this is a test to see how it does in ATL.  They are on their own to figure out the sweet spot.  If they have to charge north of $20 to make money on it, and no one buys it, maybe it's not a good fit for ATL.  But these were single pallets outside of the Ace system--if I'm in the system and we're drop shipping entire truckloads the plant, their cost will go down.

Just keep in mind that this is the #1 charcoal on the Naked Whiz, and is said to burn longer than any other charcoal he has ever used.  It's also a 20# bag, vs. a 17.6# (8 kg) bag.  Buy a bag, tell them what you think about the price and performance......they'll listen.

At $20.99 it's not outrageous.  I'm pretty sure that is less than what they were charging for WGWW. I will give a bag a try.

I am up for a group buy. @jrwhitee looks like you have the right set-up for delivery.  I have heard that OO is out of lump.  We should all talk at the fest this weekend.

Sure.  I'll still do them through the slow season--but come spring, it's going to be crazy.

I just got 30 bags of OO delivered to my door from firecraft. It was $328, delivered, which I thought was pretty reasonable. $99 minimum purchase for free delivery.
