Will be pulled pork calzones. Made plenty of calzones, but never pulled pork. Any ideas on what to put in it other than pulled pork? I was thinking a mix of cheddar cheeses and some red onion and some good BBQ sauce from @travisstrick courtesy of the gift exchange. Anything else?

You could also go the traditional mozzarella, red sauce, mushrooms and onions with the pulled pork - I'm just more of a savory guy.

Yeah, I was leaning that way to begin with @Nola, but then I remembered that the little bit of leftover PP already had some BBQ sauce mixed in. I figured I would just add a little more sauce as opposed to mixing red and BBQ sauces. Plan now is to get some input from forum and then make gametime decision. I love me some pulled pork and broccoli rabe pizza. Something green in there might be good! I'd also recommend ricotta cheese for any calzone!

I have done a Mexican version with verde salsa cheese and refried beans with the pulled pork.Hood Stars, Wrist Crowns and Obsession Dobs!

I know this might be considered heresy on this website, but if you make a calzone and not put it on the egg but slip into hot oil and deep fry. Then have a bowl of sauce to dip into. WOW. My family calls them Poor Man's Pizza from a receipe my aunt learned when my uncle was stationed in Naples Italy 55+ years ago.

Okay worked late. Got home at 7:30. Whipped together Blue Hog sauce, red onion, pickled jalapeños, pulled pork, ricotta and cheddar cheeses. On at 500 right now. Big green egg pizza stone on top of AR. Brushed with an egg wash or coloring.Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

Verdict. Blues hog was great. The candied jalapeños (also from Travis) were fantastic. Didn't really taste the cheddar, the onions were a nice touch and the ricotta as usual was great. I give it a 8/10. Could have cooked top longer but bottom was done.Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013
