Do medium eggs have a screen on the lower vent?
I just added a medium that I got a great deal on on Craigslist, but the lower vent only has the solid cover not the screened one to keep ash and hot material from falling out.
If they do have them where is the best place to get one.

    Yes it should have the screen. Probably have to talk to a dealer in order to get a new screen to replace.  Did the person you bought it from have a temp controller?  He/She might still have the screen and overlooked giving it to you.

    Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

    From my understanding, some older eggs didn't have the screen.
    Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

    Screens were added around 2006-07.  They switched to the stainless steel draft door from the enamel  coated steel ones around 2002, so your Egg may have been ship sometime between '02-06'ish.
