Will this be ok to use for smoking in my egg?

Red oak is awesome. It's the wood of choice out west for the famed Santa Maria style Tri-tips.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Works well with red meat. A little strong for fish or chicken but not like mesquite it hickory.
