Word is that brisket goes on sale at HEB today or tomorrow through next Tuesday... $ 0.98/lb. Limit 2 so hit a couple of stores to stock up!

I'm cooking burgers for some friends tonight...about to pick up a brisket to grind up. Sadly, no Howard Edward Butt stores around hair.

I drove to the nearest HEB down here in Brownsville Texas. I was lucky to find a USDA choice in the pile. All the briskets were priced at $1.98 though, limit two. Guess that's still a pretty good price for choice.

I just bought a select at Sam's club to grind into burger for a little get-together tonight. $2.29/pound. :(

I just bought one yesterday for well over $3/pound. I didn't even think to check whether it was choice or select. I went out to look at it and there are no markings. does that mean "select"? I assume they have a lot of motivation to make sure we know it's choice. :(( :((
