I regret it.  We tried to take up 7 spaces but the tree got in our way.  How often does an event rate high enough to have a fine Vespa parked out front?  Kinda like a Lambroghini. I heard the Sunshine Fest had a Moped out front.  Be thankful, sir.

So how did the helicopter landing thing work out? Did they take you up for a ride?

Worked out well. Got a neighbor on my street to ok landing and they agreed to come back and take the kids for a ride at a later date. The also had Cessna land in Temple and the chopper made a run over there to bring them in as well.

Man, helicopters and cessnas...y'all doing it big in Salado these days! The closest I've gotten to a heli is my remote controller one that my father in law flew into a new tv!

With all the buzz from this weekend and the few stories that were allowed to make it to the general public online, I think all the hard work you, Spring Chicken and everyone else  put into setting up the fest was well received. I will do my best to make it next year to help out and join in on the fun. It was nice to see many of the forum members that are active made it all to the same spot and I can only imagine some of the great food that everyone had. Job well done sir!

To say that Mickey, Spring Chicken and all the others put together a great eggfest would be a gross understatement. The bourbon-soaked grounds of the Inn bear testament to that.

I had such an awesome time tasting, and meeting folks that I'll even overlook the fact that I didn't win a mini. I'm definitely going to cook next year.

I will be there and make a cook worthy of a great eggfest. I had my al pastor practiced for this year but the extra two days I needed to drive down didn't work out with poor planning on my part. I hope to make it to a few texas fests between now and then to fine tune my skills for a big crowd by this time next year..
