Fire Ring Crack

Options
I was just cleaning out my coal in the fire box and noticed that the fire ring has a vertical crack clean through.  Is this normal/does anyone have experience with this?  If so, will it hinder my cooking?  Also, is this an item under warranty?  My egg is less than 3 months old and I wouldn't think that any of the ceramic components would've cracked by now.

It will be under warranty. Ceramics are lifetime warranty but you will still be able to cook with it just if you move it do it easy

Mine is less than 3 months and cracked too. Local dealer said it would be in the next shipment from the mothership...no hassles and really no effect on performance that I've noticed.

I'd report it to your dealer and get a replacement then continue to use the old one until you think its affecting your cooks. Or until you move it and it falls apart.

It won't hinder your cooking in any way.

Mine did the same thing replaced under warranty no issue. I did notice that it got more air with the crack and I had to open my vents up a bit more once I got a new one.

I've had the Mothership replace two or three of them over the years.  Just take a picture and email it to them.

Mine cracked, I emailed the Mothership. Got an email back stating it is covered by the warranty and to take a copy of the email to a dealer and have them order one for me. Or pay $30 and have one shipped to my home.  Pretty easy.
