Do you have an old weber or anything that has a grid that would fit? If so you can make a raised grid or just go by Home depot or someplace and buy a raised grid. ABT's are a favorite, Pig Shots too!

Explain pig shots. Please! Do they go well with beer?
@smokindawg82 I have an LBGE does the grid need to be 15"Huntsville, Al LBGE -
Everything goes good with beer. @Central_Bama_Egger Pig shots are kabasa wrapped with bacon that forms a cup. Then you put cream cheese in the middle and brown sugar and bbq sauce if you want. They are amazing.

Someone recently posted -- dill pickles sliced about an inch thick wrapped with a half slice of bacon and a toothpick thru it to secure the bacon. Well, i tried it -- and suprisingly it was good!

@Central_Bama_Egger-with the LBGE you can get a 17" weber grid and a couple of empty (key word) beer cans and get a raised grid as the main LBGE grid is 18". Your beer plan is great-hope you get to execute it. You may want to derail SWMBO's idea by having something already cooking on the BGE when she gets home. Then make sure the couch is ready for the night >-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

It's not a matter of if you will be drinking beer, but are you going to be drinking GOOD beer?

Tghanks you Fliehigh for posting that recipe,
The pickles i had, were not real fresh, but i tried it and without the maple syrup -- and they were still good. I was doing some other apps and thru these on with them. I now have a big jar of dills for the next try !!

No Problem
I call them "Dill's in a Blanket".
Try them with maple bacon if you can find it.

FYI. I cook EVERY night I'm not at the fire station. If you do that, eventually the wife will get used to having no say in what's for dinner. Then YOU get to decide when you eat out and when you don't. She will eventually brag to her friends how you cook every night, and they will tell her how lucky she is. She will, in time, start to believe them. When you have accomplished all of this, you determine what's for dinner,so, you can cook on the egg every night if you please. Secondly, you can drink your beer at the house, which is much cheaper. Better food, more beer, bigger buzz, jealous wife friends, and much more fun! I eat what I want, drink as many beers and I want, and have never spent a night on the couch! I think the smell of Hickory may have a hypnotic effect....SWMBO, you are getting sleeeeppppyyy....Haha!

Try a 6 pack of "Wild Blue" if you can get it. Damn good beer and it's different. You should be able to find it. I done these around 350-400 for 45 mins to an hour. Depends on how done you want the bacon.

ABT's-I make mine with the jalapeno split length-wise. Cook raised direct at around 350-375*F on the dome til the bacon is done. Plan around 40-50 mins or so. Plenty of time for beers during the cook.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Well the blankety blank plans changed for tomorrow. Now no wings but 2 SC chickens. And still the jalapeños. Do you think it'll be ok to cook both at the same time? SC is normally raised direct at 450 or so dome. I can put the ABTs on an extender. Will that work?Huntsville, Al LBGE

Lowes....they don't sell beer.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
-
I've never done it but I don't see why it wouldn't work. They will probably cook faster that way but that is ok too. You got me wanting to do ABT's now. I'm doing St.Louis ribs today. Maybe some abts when the ribs come off.
